| Gorman McCracken has been serving Texas and Louisiana's Volkswagen needs for over 50 Years. Since it inception, this dealership has been family owned and operated which has allowed them the opportunities to better service the automotive needs of the community.
In 1960 James "Jim" Francis Gorman opened the dealership and took on a partner in 1966 by the name of Clarence "Mack" McCracken. The name Gorman McCracken Volkswagen was then established. The pair owned this dealership till 1971 when they sold it to Edward "Ed" Russell Jr. and he became the new dealer principle. In 1997 Mr. Russell's son Edward "Rusty" Russell, III took over the operations of the dealership and became the new owner.
In 2003, Carl Barnett SR purchased Gorman McCracken Volkswagen and is currently the dealer principle. Mr. Barnett is also the proud owner of Baytown Hyundai, Paris Ford & Lincoln, and is the process of building a new Volkswagen dealership in Austin Texas.
