When contemplating the purchase of this new vehicle, I contacted three Volkswagen dealerships for comparison: Rusty Wallis in Garland, TX, Moffit VW in Bossier City, LA, and Gorman McCracken in Longview, TX. It was amazing to me, that even though I spent over 2 hours at Moffitt, test driving, talking about options, etc, I ended up buying my Passat from Gorman McCracken. They met my price expectations, bent over backwards to get my business, and had my car ready and waiting when I got there. This is an A+ dealership, in my opinion.

Chris Williams is great at what he does. I had to drop off my car before the service department was even open and had not set up an appointment. I was about to call when he emailed me to ask me what I needed done to my car. I was in a conference all day and he emailed me on what needed to be done along with pictures. I can safely say that there are not many like Chris nor like the service department in Longview. Gorman McCracken has set the standard for service departments. My wife bought a Kia from Crown in Tyler which is also a Volkswagen dealer. I have not been satisfied with them and hope to be able to continue to drive to Longview to get my Jetta worked on.

There's actually a VW dealership in Tyler, where I live, but I choose to make the drive to Longview because I love Love LOVE your service department. The Salesman that we had throughout the whole process of buying this car was Dwight Johnson and I must truely say that in all the years of dealing with car dealerships and very pushy salesman I have never meet a salesman like Dwight! I never considered buying a vw until she introduce me to it with the test drive, crash scale, gas mileage, features, etc. She made sure that I was completely satisfied with my purchase and wouldn't take "No" for an answer unless I got what I wanted. The dealership took the time to find out exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. After determining the problem, i was notified that a part had already been ordered and would call as soon as it arrived. It was a pleasure to do business at Gorman McCracken VW. I was looking for a car well over a month and realized that I was going to have to look outside my market to find the Beetle my wife wanted. It turned out that Gorman McCracken had a model with the exact features my wife was looking for. I reached out to them by completing an online form and Diana contacted me the very next day. Diana was very helpful to provide the additional information I was looking for on the car since I was dependent on the description and pictures from their website.
Ted, Diana, and the team made me an offer that was competitive with offers I had received from dealers throughout the mid-South from St Louis to Dallas. After agreeing to terms, I flew to Longview to complete the transaction. Diana picked me up at the airport and drove me back to the dealership. These folks were ready for me! They had all the paperwork ready (Thanks, Matt) and made it a very simple, pleasant experience. Hats off to the team at Gorman McCracken! They really treated me well and were very attentive. Diana called and checked on the following morning after my 300 mile drive back home to make sure we got in and to ask if my wife liked the vehicle. She sure does!

This is my first Volkswagen which I purchased from Gorman-McCracken dealership about six months ago. I have owned several different types of vehicles in the past (Ford, Nissan, Volvo and Mercury) and have never really had a positive experience with the dealer service department. One time I took my 2001 VW diesel to a quick change oil place. It was horrible as they did not screw my oil filter on and oil was flying. You get what you pay for and I have now learned to ALWAYS take your VW to the dealership because they KNOW VW's. They stand by their work and follow up their service. I have bought three VW's from this dealership. That says a LOT!

This was the BEST car buying experience I've ever had. I'm not kidding! My husband and I had been to several lots already that day and had test-driven many vehicles, including the Chevy Cruze, Nissan Altima and Maxima, Lincoln town car, Ford Tauras, and others. Nothing seemed to "fit" - they were either too "small" on size for our family of 4, or they were too "big" on price. We had never even test driven a VW before. We were just going to drive through the lot before we went home that day (about 4 p.m.) However, the minute we pulled up, I knew the car I wanted. I just knew. It was the baby blue Passat. I loved the color and style. We also liked the fire engine red Jetta. Right after we parked and were walking towards the door of the dealership, the cutest, friendliest, bubbliest lady came toward us. I thought it was a customer. But it was Mylene, our wonderful car salesperson!!! She was so sweet, friendly, and did not pressure us! It was great! She let us test drive both cars, and we loved the Jetta but decided it wasn't big enough for our family. We had so much fun test driving. I loved the power of both cars!!! And the prices were fair and economical. It was the best deal we'd seen all day. I truly knew that the light blue Passat was the car for me! It was so luxurious and roomy and powerful and beautiful. And I loved the "S" button to give it extra power. And Mylene made it so fun and enjoyable and she was so cute in her sundress and high heels. We laughed and talked and felt like we were old friends. She made the experience a beautiful one. I couldn't believe we went home in our new Passat that day. And the "haggling" part was even bearable, almost pleasant (dare I say that). I don't remember the man's name, but it was some head honcho that had a baby. He was very personable also and easy to talk to. We liked everyone there. And the maintenance guy came and introduced himself and gave us his card. And Mylene explained everything so well and was very patient and didn't rush us. She set up my bluetooth and everything. If she didn't know the answer to something, she asked someone who did, and I found that refreshing. She was truly a wonderful, sweet, personable saleslady. Like I said, without hesitation, this was the BEST car-buying experience we ever have had and I have already sent friends your way!!! We love our Passat, and we love Gorman-McCracken. Great dealership. I really like the salesman, Taylor, and the fact that he followed my instructions, didn't try and high pressure us and went above and beyond. Another dealership in Longview lost a sale because they couldn't live up to the attitude and experience we received at Gorman McCracken.
In addition, we weren't even going to look at the CC and only did so after Taylor's recommendation so he is definitely responsible for the sale.

Taylor was supper great he noticed (I always like looking at the new cars) that I was checking out the new Jetta's and offered to show me what was new and we visited about some of the other VW products.
The fact that Taylor took time to speak with me said volumes to me he was interested in what I was driving and my gas mileage my likes and dislikes.
(A good sales person wants his customers to come back and to send Family and Friends. In order to do that they have to build a relationship with their customers and it should not end with the sale of the vehicle.)
Taylor said come see me when your back in for service...He's interested in his customers. I'll be looking forward to visiting with him when I go to Longview for service.

I really felt like an appreciated customer from the beginning of my first inquiry to the delivery of my new car. My sales rep was very friendly, showed concern for the value of my time, and let me know of all the steps being taken and the time frame for each one. In addition, several of the other members of your staff made sure I was being taken care of and was not in need of anything.

The alternator on our 2003 Beetle convertible gave out near Jefferson, TX at about 11:15 am on Saturday Oct 15.I called AAA and they sent a tow truck to take us to Gorman-McCracken in Longview. Service was excellent as always. I always go to the dealership for oil change (or most all repairs etc) with my diesel as "oil change" companies in town have messed up too many times. One time a oil change company punctured my air conditioning. Never again. Always go to Gorman McCracken.

I generally dislike the prospect of having to purchase a new vehicle a tend to buy one that I can keep for 10 or more years. However, the experience that I had at Gorman McCracken may well change my views on that. I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the experience.
I love the Jetta! It makes a comparable Honda or Toyota seem cheap & underpowered. The few people I know who have a Jetta are very loyal owners. We are almost a cult! Thanks VW & Thanks Gorman McCracken!

As long as we are in Texas, we will never purchase another vehicle anywhere else. VW is the only car my family will drive from now on. The quality and safety features of both our Jetta and Routan are far superior to any other vehicle. Travis, Ted, Matt, Dwayne and even the service people made our buying experience wonderful.
